Campaign of the Month: August 2011
Le Ballet de l'Acier
The Cotentin is the northwest corner of Normandie. A rugged, remote region, it juts northward into La Manche (the Channel) and includes the Cotentin Penninsula. Lashed by north and east winds, the east-facing coast is rocky with high cliffs, while the sheltered west-facing coast is marked by long stretches of wide sandy beaches; the venerable monastery of Mont-Saint-Michel is located west of the peninsula. Orchards, pastures, and forests cover the landscape. The Cotentois speak Normand more often than they do French.
