Order of Saint Hubert

First established in the Duchy of Bar in the 15th century as the Order of Fidelity, the knights adopted Saint Hubert as their patron in 1416. Knights of the order are sworn to defend the dukes of Bar and Lorraine, to take up arms when required by their grandmaster, and to live by the Catholic faith. Knights must be of noble blood.

Knights of the order wear a badge consisting of a cross pattée in gold, rounded at the points and enamelled white; the center is a blue circle with a gold edge featuring Saint Hubert kneeling before a stag with a cross in its antlers. The badge is suspended from a blue ribbon edged with red.
